The CPREG net is held every Wednesday night at 8:00 PM. It is primary a social net, but we also take to opportunity to practice participating in a directed net. It is held on the club’s Jim Creek VHF repeater. This repeater is on 147.855 MHz with a -0.6 MHz. offset with a 141.3 Hz tone.
The Cloud Peak Radio And Electronics Group owns three repeaters that are placed on ridges around Sheridan. These repeaters can usually be easily reached by those in Sheridan and surrounding towns.
Jim Creek VHF repeater: 147.855 (-) 141.3 hz tone - To access the Jim Creek VHF repeater, set your radio to receive on 147.855 MHz. Then set it for a negative -0.6 MHz offset, so that when you transmit, the radio transmits on 147.255 MHz. Due to interference the repeater does not use a standard offset. Then set the transmit CTCSS subaudible tone to 141.3 Hz. This will allow you to access the repeater for our weekly net. This repeater is on a ridge to the east of Sheridan.
Jim Creek UHF repeater: 449.800 (-) 100.0 hz tone - To access the Jim Creek UHF repeater, set your radio to receive on 449.800 MHz. Then set it for a negative 0.6 MHz offset, so that when you transmit, the radio transmits on 444.800 MHz. Then set the transmit CTCSS subaudible tone to 100 Hz. This repeater is also DMR. This repeater is on a ridge to the east of Sheridan and shares the tower with the Jim creek VHF repeater..
Banner Ridge repeater: 448.000 (-) 100.0 hz tone - To access the Banner Ridge repeater, set your radio to receive on 448.000 MHz. Then set it for a 5 MHz negative offset, so that when you transmit, the radio transmits on 443.000 MHz. Then set the transmit CTCSS subaudible tone to 100Hz. This repeater is on Banner Ridge south of Sheridan.
